Areas of Service

For specialty homes on acreage or equestrian properties, I cover a broader range of counties than what my typical area is for single-family homes. My portfolio and counties I cover are King, Snohomish, Pierce, Skagit, Kitsap, and Thurston. If you have a home outside of these counties, I’m happy to refer you to a knowledgeable agent and/or work with that agent to deliver and create a seamless plan to market your home or help you find your perfect property!

Why Work with an Acreage and Equine Specialist?

With acreage properties, there is a lot more to know that the average agent might not be familiar with. For example, does your agent know the types of septics? Capacity of your septic? Maybe you have multiple? Understanding septic’s is a huge factor in our area for acreage estates. Similarly, a lot of acreage homes are on wells. Does your agent know what to test for and what to look at when talking about wells? Other items that commonly arise are forestry programs, property feasibility, access, easements, road maintenance, and encroachments. Hiring someone with knowledge and experience advising on these types of matters is necessary for proper representation.

On top of that, when getting into equestrian properties you combine everything one finds with acreage and adds another level. Having someone who not only understands how you use the facility and property, but can also see potential for the buyer market in other horse communities is essential. For example, if you’re into Reining, the arena footing is drastically different to allow the horses to slide as opposed to a horse that is going over fences that needs a much softer footing that will work well for compression on the forehand. Alternatively, a smaller 15 hand quarter horse will live alright in a smaller stall, however if you have warmbloods they aren’t going to fit in a 10X10 box stall. Having someone to navigate and convey options to buyers or alternatively point out options to help you buy the right place, will make a world of difference.

I look forward to helping you with your next sale or purchase as these properties are truly special and each one comes with their own set of unique aspects!

My Equestrian Background

I grew up on 15 acres in Woodinville, Washington. While there, we essentially had a “hobby farm” (horses, chickens, cats, birds, rabbits). We also had two retired, halter, Arabians that my father used to show and one docile Appaloosa on the property. At the age of 6 I started professional lessons in Preston, Washington where I showed on the ApHC circuit. At 10 I started showing regionally, and at 13 I started showing at the world level. I had a great show career as a youth that propelled me into being recruited for the NCAA D1 equestrian team at California State University in Fresno. While there, I not only continued my horse career, but I also met many other professionals and amateurs across the country. This also gave me knowledge into different industries, and disciplines ranging from dressage, hunters, equitation, and reining as well as continuing my connections in the all-around circuits.

I completed my BS in Business with an emphasis in Marketing slightly early and decided to move back to WA, where I decided to apply my education to real estate. These experiences provide a truly unique opportunity to speak to each property’s asset and limitations, while being able to hone in effective marketing.

Today I have my long-time show horse, Coco, who I care for and is living in retirement. I also continue to stay active in helping youth in our area with their horses as they look into possibly riding division one. Fortunately, through my career path, I’ve gained exceptional clientele and an agent network that allows me to stay fairly active in the industry. I look forward in the years to come on adding another member to the family and showing again.
